About the project:

Our NGO participated in the project “Digital Storytelling for Youth Inclusion”, that brought together 26 socio-educational animators from 08 European and Mediterranean countries, to develop their skills, find new approaches and methods to meet the challenges of working with members of ethnic minorities, migrants and refugees on whom we depend, as youth workers, we face.

The project aims to introduce the concept of digital storytelling and explore the positive impact it can have when used as a method of working with young people at risk of social exclusion. Digital storytelling is based on the assumption that each person has a unique story to tell and share with others. It is a modern extension of the art of storytelling which has been an important part of social interactions since the very birth of mankind.

The specific objectives of this project:

1) Discuss and explore the importance and potential of digital methods also for working with young people from diverse cultures.

2) Enrich expertise in digital storytelling and learn to facilitate projects based on this same method.

3) Explore theories of culture, understand how stereotypes are created and improve the professional capacities of youth workers to prevent radicalism among young people.

4) Motivate and empower participants to act as multipliers of our methodology during workshops and trainings carried out upon their return, with their target groups.
