“Club for Youth Empowerment 018 (KOM 018), Serbia would like to apply to Erasmus + program, for the CBY project "Safebook for safe youth" in cooperation with Beyond Borders – Italy, Idea for Life – Poland, Youth Center “Perspektiva” – Albania, Red Cross Novo Sarajevo – Bosnia and Herzegovina, Jordan Youth Innovation Forum – Jordan and Euro-Med EVE in Tunisia for the period of 24 months. The project idea is focused on the safety of young people, especially affected by COVID-19 pandemic. “Safebook for safe youth” project aims at promotion of safety culture among young people through newly developed manual “Safebook” for youth work in the field of youth safety (http://kom018.org.rs/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/ENG-Safebook-Manual.pdf) . The manual was produced through Strategic partnership in the field of youth in 2021 by the applicant Club for Youth Empowerment 018 (KOM 018) together with Beyond Borders – Italy, and partners from Croatia and North Macedonia and is recognized as a good practice project by Serbian National Agency, Tempus Foundation. “Safebook” manual includes new and innovative methodologies and creative tools in the form of youth friendly manual for youth workers. Newly developed manual focuses on 5 segments of youth safety: peer violence, cyber bullying, abuse of psychoactive substances, discrimination, and mental health in time of COVID–19.
Project Aim:
To motivate youth workers and young people to take more active role in promotion of safety culture. peer violence, cyber bullying, abuse of psychoactive substances, discrimination, and
mental health in time of COVID–19.
This project responds well to the objectives of the Action in the sense that it will:

Raise the capacities of partner organizations through their involvement in all project activitieswith specific focus on capacity building activities. Partner organizations will adopt new methodologyfor promotion of youth safety culture and non-formal education of young people in 5 safetysegments.

Promote non-formal learning activities in third countries not associated to the Programespecially targeting young people with fewer opportunities will be done through implementation ofinternational and local trainings and dissemination of the project results and activities. Partner organizations and young people who will be involved in project activities will contribute to the development of new tools for promotion of importance and significance of the youth work and nonformal education on topic of youth safety. Support the development of youth work in third world countries not associated to the Program, improving its quality and recognition through transferring newly developed methodology of “Safebook”, which is recognized as a good practice by Serbian National Agency, Tempus Foundation and directly increasing youth work activities in these participating countries.

Contributing to the implementation of the EU Youth Strategy (2019-2027) with focus on 3rd goal Inclusive societies, 5th goal Mental health and wellbeing of young people and 8th goal Quality Learning directly though the topics of the “Safebook” manual and some other principles of the strategy such as empowerment, engagement and connecting young people not only in EU but in third countries not associated to the Program as well.

Foster cooperation across different regions of the world through joint initiatives will be achieved through all project activities, especially international project activities where young people will learn together in intercultural environment. Moreover, project consortium is made of partner organizations from different regions, Program countries, Region 1 and 3, which will secure this objective.

Enhance synergies and complementarities with formal education systems – “Safebook” manual has the potential to be used by teaching stuff and other relevant youth security and safety actors. One of the objectives of the manual was to enhance and promote the importance of crosssectoral cooperation among formal and non-formal education institutions and other relevant public institutions.

The meeting provided a platform for collaboration, aligning on the project's mission to foster digital literacy, safety, and awareness in an increasingly digital world.

During our three-day stay in Corato, Italy, we immersed ourselves in the Safe Book project. This dynamic experience allowed us to work collaboratively on country analysis, with a strong emphasis on youth safety and its five segments. The diverse backgrounds and perspectives of our multinational group brought a wealth of insights, enriching our discussions and fostering a sense of unity.

Focus group aims :
-gain insight into the experiences and perspectives of the association and the project (Safebook)
-provide a unique opportunity for engaging youth in a discussion that allows to identify needs and preferences for the project .
- gather in-depth information about a community's thoughts and opinions on a topic(each segment )
-creating healthier and higher qualities of life for youth. The five competencies of a healthy youth are: (1) positive sense of self, (2) self- control, (3) decision-making skills, (4) a moral system of belief, and (5) pro-social connectedness.
-promotes Presentations and creative ideas designed to reduce high-risk behaviors, strengthen youth resiliency, improve protective factors, develop fundamental life skills, and establish a pattern of behaviors that lead to healthy choices and ultimately success in life.
